Big Rig was admittedly, a little out of gas once practice was over with. Both he and Raf had missed last night's game due to flu-like symptoms. Most likely caught from those pesky Edmonton Oilers and basically the entire province of Alberta. Did you guys hear about the Flames line-jumping to get vaccinated?Rafalski sitting out sound much more like a precautionary measure more than anything. Here's what he had to say:
“Just had to sleep a lot. I didn’t get too feverish or anything. Little bit of a sore throat and cough. It’s coming around.”
So for all of you that fell in love with seeing #37 out there again, I'm sorry.
I gotta admit, it was weird seeing that #37 out there NOT whistling shots past our other forwards at chin-height. I still think he should get a longer look. At his salary, it's a wash as far as roster spots between he and Lebda, who I will also admit wasn't too terrible last night. I liked Janik's game, simple and safe, just like a good stay-at-home defenseman should play.
