Chicago: 8-4-1 17 Points
Colombus: 7-5-1 15 Points
Detroit: 6-4-3 15 Points
Nashville: 6-6-1 13 Points
St. Louis: 5-6-1 11 Points
So the high and mighty Chicago Blackhawks are now only 2 points clear of the lowly Detroit Red Wings after 13 games...hmmm. Taxi cab drivers everywhere will fear the wrath of Patrick Kane if Detroit overtakes them in the standings.
I did some checking and here's the next 5 games for Chicago:
ReplyDelete11-5 at Phoenix
11-6 at Colorado
11-9 vs. L.A.
11-11 vs. Colorado
11-13 at Toronto
The only game that's basically a lock for them to win is the game against the Laffs.
Here's Columbus' next 5:
11-4 vs. San Jose
11-5 at Atlanta
11-7 vs. Carolina
11-11 vs. Our Wings
11-13 vs. Anaheim
The BJs have a much easier schedule than Chicago's with games against the Canes and Ducks.
Our next 5:
11-5 vs. San Jose
11-7 at Toronto
11-11 at BJs
11-12 vs. Vancouver
11-14 vs. Anaheim
Our schedule isn't too bad either. We get San Jose on the back end of a back-to-back. Toronto is, well, Toronto. If we can stop Rick Nash, the BJs shouldn't be too much of a problem. Vancouver is playing with almost all minor-leaguers now with all their injuries. Anaheim sucks so far this year (boo-frickety-hoo). I say we're up for 7 out of 10 points in the next 5 games. I'd like to say 10 out of 10, but something will likely go awry somewhere in there.
With any luck, Columbus will lose to San Jose, Atlanta (who is surprisingly playing well), and Us.
Chicago hopefully loses 3 of the next 5.
By November 14, the standings could look like this:
Detroit 9-5-4 22 pts.
Chicago 10-7-1 21 pts.
Columbus 9-8-1 19 pts.
And naturally no one cares about St. Lose and Bubba.
Now, I know all of this is definitely subject to change, but my point in all of this is that, to quote Kurt Russell in "Tombstone", "We're comin' and Hell's comin' with us!!"
Damn, CIHH...that gets my vote for "comment of the year" so far. I should just copy and paste all of that into a new post, delete your comment, and then pawn it off like I thought of it myself. Outstanding work. And a Tombstone reference? I'm your huckleberry!
ReplyDeleteIt's your blog, bro. Have at it. I just hope we end up in first place like I half-ass predicted.
