Redwingscentral.com gives us another look at a young and promising talent in the Detroit's organ-i-zation...
The Detroit Red Wings compare Brent Raedeke to Darren Helm, and Raedeke is doing his best to emulate the hard-hitting speedster.
Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, well maybe not big per say, but given Helm's reputation among fans...a lot to live up to.
"Helmer is a really good player so being compared to him is a good thing. They want me to play like him and do all the little things. I have been working on that. Hopefully I can be as good as him or get to where he is right now."
One can only hope, Brent.
Raedeke is 6'0 and 197 lbs. The Red Wings invited the center to training camp as a free agent last summer. Apparently, he made enough impact on the staff as to warrant a three-year entry-level contract shortly thereafter.
Raedeke had 19 goals among 55 points in 70 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. He'll be returning to the Oil Kings this year.
